This Simple Prayer
This simple prayer
protects me
drapes itself around me
like silken breath
This simple prayer carries me
through the battlefields of despair
round dark sinkholes of depression
inside a fragile shell of hope
This simple prayer
holds me
cradles me in
shimmering skies
and covers me
with moonlight
