This Simple Prayer by Jean Varda

This Simple Prayer

This simple prayer

protects me

drapes itself around me

like silken breath

This simple prayer carries me

through battlefields of despair

round dark sinkholes of depression

inside a fragile shell of hope

This simple prayer

holds me

cradles me in

shimmering skies

and covers me

with moonlight

  1. This is a lovely poem. What an interesting bio, too.
