Some of Your Muscle by DK Jammin’

Peggy Anke

Some of Your Muscle

I was rocked tonight by Your love.

My hand flew up to hold my heart;

My breath and my world wavered.

Completely new love: solid, fuller,

A surprising heftiness and weight,

Some of Your muscle in it, I think.

A wakeup jab, not featherlight.

Have You been lifting weights, Lord?

Are You growing, bulking out?
Let me say yes. Yes, to all You do.

Thank You for Your love’s strength.

My arms and legs of devotion

Get a demanding daily workout,

To hold You fair and walk You far.

Of How I Am to Move to You by DK Jammin’

Stijl Dijkstra

Of How I Am to Move to You

Oh! The love I feel from You

Is the real thing, all right –

But to call it a feeling,
A heart-string feeling?

No! The love I feel from You
Is so much more – a maze,

Multi-layered, mysterious,

Incomprehensibly complex,

And zinging off the charts –

Just exactly like Your Dear Self.

Yes! The love I feel from You

Is densely packaged, encoded,

And programmed to unfold.
I can sense a pulsing power

And sparkling intelligence.
I think it has a beauty, a flow,

Even a story, a sweet direction

Of how I am to move to You.

I Open My Front Door by DK Jammin’

Amal NR

I Open My Front Door

Let me just weep
For this place, this world,

And all the people in it,

Including me.

Whenever I open
My locked front door,

My reluctant heart,

It’s there.

Bereft of You,

Without each other,

Without a why, lost,

Isolation rules.

A friendly wave today,

Implacable hate tomorrow.

Turned both outward
And inward.

Not truly who we are,

But us for now,
Our light, our love,

Grayed out.

Often I push You away,

Keep You on my sleeve,

Rather than endure
It all.

I’m so, so sorry.
If I could do anything

Other than grieve,
I would.

I open my front door

And look, and –
It’s there. It’s there.
I weep.
