Some of Your Muscle
I was rocked tonight by Your love.
My hand flew up to hold my heart;
My breath and my world wavered.
Completely new love: solid, fuller,
A surprising heftiness and weight,
Some of Your muscle in it, I think.
A wakeup jab, not featherlight.
Have You been lifting weights, Lord?
Are You growing, bulking out?
Let me say yes. Yes, to all You do.
Thank You for Your love’s strength.
My arms and legs of devotion
Get a demanding daily workout,
To hold You fair and walk You far.
