Leaving Summer with Hope
combined nonet
fronds
palmate
in my hand
float here and there
gusts flutter in trees
summer ashes mix cottonwood hues
leaves make mauve- yellow necklaces
I thought summer was in my grasp
here come bright red falling maple leaves
bay waters wave to new seasons
catfish greet our food-filled palms
swirl sea life with fall ash
you swim disappear
then resurface
throw kisses
to us
all
