Communications by Kushal Poddar

George Pak

Communications

Have you noticed that he
writes, 'Hope you are doing well."
only when he is not?

The pattern exists because
you haven't noticed, otherwise
he would have felt being naked

in a summer city.
How are you? You text.
The same. He answers.

The feeling that the curtains
need to be changed or the garden
needs to be buried beneath

another garden gardened with more care
begins to crop up in those moments.

You never follow up on the urges.
The texts become more meaty, definite.
