Aired Out

Overcast, 

a gray sky hangs low,

no beckoning sun

to warm frozen toes

The day wet

chilled air permeates

layers of wool

pulled tightly closed

Standing still,

a limited chance to move,

just a vigil to maintain,

fulfill a task

Later indoors,

the aftermath of the cold

overcomes the senses,

aired out, refreshed
