Surviving Trauma by Carol Anne Johnson

Surviving Trauma

In the shadows deep, a soul forlorn,

Grief's heavy burden, a heartache born.

A symphony of sorrow, a melody of pain,

A life vibrant, dulled by strain.

Depression's weight, a relentless embrace,

A void within, an endless space.

Despair's fingers, vice so tight,

Squeezing out hope, enveloping in night.

Years turned to dust, as sadness grew,

A tapestry of tears, an anguish true.

The light bright, a distant dream,

Lost in the torrent, a turbulent stream.

A journey through darkness, a quest for light,

Through valleys of grief, I continue the fight.

In the midst of despair, a spark remains,

A flicker of strength amid overwhelming pains.

With every tear shed, a release of the ache,

A step towards healing, a choice to remake.

Through the depths of sorrow, I find my own way,

A survivor, a warrior, facing a brand new day.
