The Uppertaker by Todd Matson

The Uppertaker

My beloved child, as the rooster

testifies to the break of dawn, your

dark night of suffering is over.  You

have nothing to fear.  I am not the

undertaker whisking you away to the

dustheap of humanity, for there is no

urn, coffin, mausoleum or cemetery

that can contain you.  My dear

child, I am the uppertaker, as the

angels avow.  You are so much more

than your mortal body which was

made of dust and returns to dust.

You, my precious child, your inner

being, your very essence, the priceless

creature of infinite worth that you

have always been and always will be,

every single one-of-a-kind quality

that makes you uniquely who you

are, your eternal soul was born

of my very breath.  This is not

death as so many may believe.

This is rebirth.  You have been

reborn into eternity, ageless,

imperishable, immortal, forever

young.  Your mustard seed of

faith has triumphed over unbelief.

Breath of my breath, am here

to take you up into my loving

arms to be forever with me

where there is no night, no

pain or suffering, no death or

dying, no sadness or sorrow, no

tears, nothing to fear, only life,

love and joy in the presence of

loved ones and angels forevermore.
